Crystal Creek Miniatures is a working stud farm at Crystal Creek, about 10km from Murwillumbah, billed as "the amazing world of animals in miniature". Home to more than 80 miniature animals — miniature horses and foals, miniature cattle (including Zebu bulls), miniature donkeys and small dogs — it's a hands-on, family-friendly attraction set in the Tweed hinterland near the Border Ranges.
Visits are by guided walking tour, booked at least a day ahead, where you can pat and hand-feed the animals (food is provided) and take plenty of photos. The property also has a rainforest cafe overlooking Crystal Creek, where you can feed turtles and eels, plus a plant nursery, gift shop and a hall of memorabilia. The farm has featured on television programs including Totally Wild, Getaway and Sydney Weekender.
